Ph.D. Research Assistantship in Groundwater Hydrology

A Ph.D. assistantship position is available for investigating multi-objective methods for joint inversion of geophysical and hydrologic models, optimizing experimental designs that couple geophysics and tracer studies, and data assimilation. The ideal candidate will have interests in developing high performance computing tools that can be used to adaptively design field campaigns integrating geophysics, tracer experiments, and real time sensing systems.
Candidates should have an undergraduate degree in Engineering and a Masters focus related to groundwater fate-and-transport modeling under uncertainty. Programming skills in Fortran, C, C++, Matlab, and scripting languages such as Python will be beneficial.
